Julie Nguyen is a Senior Attorney at FPLG. Ms. Nguyen is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and earned her B.B.A. degree in finance, magna cum laude, from Georgia State University. She earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law where she focused on business and corporate law. She also studied international law in London for a summer semester. She was recognized through multiple scholarships and awards for her academic performance in law school, including earning a CALI Award in International Commercial Arbitration.
During law school, Ms. Nguyen volunteered for multiple non-profit organizations. She helped domestic violence victims at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, prepared tax returns for low-income taxpayers at VITA Clinic, and advocated for veterans at the USD Law Veterans Legal Clinic. She was awarded a Wiley W. Manuel Certificate in recognition of her excellent pro bono legal services and commitment to helping indigent clients. While in law school, Ms. Nguyen also interned for a publicly traded technology company and for the County of San Diego.
Upon graduating law school and prior to joining FPLG, Ms. Nguyen practiced at one of the world’s largest professional services firms, where she advised multinational corporate and partnership clients on complex issues including strategic tax planning, compliance, restructuring, financial due diligence, voluntary disclosures, audit defense and tax controversy matters.
Outside of the office, Ms. Nguyen enjoys yoga, skiing, and hiking. She also serves on the board of several nonprofit organizations.
